Well you have just generalised it here, not all families
function the way yours does, if you and your wife are happy with
the arrangement, then it is fine by me. Enjoy your life and live
it.
I on the other hand, make all decisions with my wife because I
value her input. She gives me another dimension that I may not
readily see or may not want to see from my male standpoint.
Sometimes she may be right, but at least when I make a decision, I
know it has been well considered. When I buy a car for my wife, I
consider her need and what she wants, she is driving the car
afterall, it may not be what i think she needs, but as long as she
is happy, then it is fine by me.
also not all of us guys want to leave the choosing of the colour of
the houae, sofa etc to the wife... we want to make a joint
decision.
